APS students and Rebel golfers, Jackson Griess (11th) and Baylon Kolar (12th) were honored by the American Legion Auxiliary today at lunch with the Youth Hero Award.
Members Barb Dorsey (President) and Helen Ohme presented the award to Jackson and Baylon to thank them for their efforts in March to put out a fire near the golf course in Loup City.
The Youth Hero Award was created in 2002 by the National Children and Youth Committee, one of the American Legion Auxiliary committees. The award recognizes young people who demonstrate a kind, caring act of selflessness.
